Laura Docter
Laura Docter, PhD is an Adjunct faculty member at University of Redlands’ San Francisco Theological Seminary. She has over four decades four decades of teaching experience across public and private schools and universities in the United States. A lifelong educator and innovator, she has taught subjects ranging from elementary school through graduate-level courses, with a focus on interdisciplinary learning, civic engagement, and student-centered inquiry. Laura holds a doctorate in Teaching, Curriculum, and Social Policy from Michigan State University, where her research explored women’s history, faith, and teacher education.
At AESOP, Laura has taught Advanced English and Health and Hope, a course that builds physical fitness alongside habits of gratitude, mindfulness, and well-being. Throughout her career, she has helped launch programs, worked with diverse communities—including bilingual and Indigenous education initiatives—and remained a passionate advocate for girls’ education and inclusive learning environments.
